Hybrid components for the automotive sector
In the fast lane with hybrid components
Hybrid components are becoming increasingly standard – in particular in the automotive sector. As is evidenced by the fact that we have been a development and production partner of leading car manufacturers for many years, you can be certain that TB&C's customer-specific hybrid components will meet your requirements with regard to precision, quality and efficiency.
Case study
Fully integrated, overmolded wind deflector
Until 2002, net wind deflectors consisted of multiple individual components, such as pre-cut net, piping strips, aluminum profiles, springs and mountings that have to be sewn together and assembled – an extremely lengthy and costly process.
Together with a well-known automotive supplier, TB&C developed the fully integrated and overmolded net wind deflector. In a complex process, the steel insert, springs and pre-cut net are inserted into a large injection mold and then overmolded with plastic. And all that to the specified standard of quality!
An optical grain that meets the specifications of the car manufacturer completes the look. In comparison, this is an inexpensive production process. Innovative design ideas, such as plastic interfaces with which the assembly in the roof can be completed within seconds, contain a tremendous savings potential for all of those manufacturers who are still assembling wind deflectors consisting of individual parts.
